Causes of Tiredness and Diseases

The Plain Truth about Stress

Even schoolchildren know that stress – with some exceptions – is harmful. This is why it should be avoided. Easy to say, but more difficult to implement.

Family, relationships, work, health, money – they all have in common the fact that they can make us happy and satisfied, as well as often being a source of real stress. And that’s without mentioning travel, shopping, neighbours etc. Even if you live on a desert island, you can still be stressed. You can worry about what you’re going to eat, where to hide from the heat or cold, you can worry about being on your own… It’s quite clear: doctors, advisors, psychologists and everyone who wishes mankind well can keep telling us to avoid stress, the plain truth is that it’s impossible. Stress is part of life. Full stop.

Root of the Problem

The realisation that we can’t completely avoid stress can reassure us a little. Another thing we can do is strengthen our body and spirit with all our might to better cope with stress, because it is proven that stress weakens the immunity, which is just one step away from illness, whether it’s a common cold or fatal disease.

Over the last few decades, the number of people suffering from long-term or repeated tiredness has been rapidly increasing. Doctors deal with this problem as chronic fatigue syndrome. It is marked by a feeling of deep, long-lasting exhaustion; those affected have sleep problems, depression, cannot concentrate and cannot cope with ordinary, everyday tasks. The causes of this health problem are still being researched, but scientists say that a weakened immune system plays an important role. Many patients say that before their problems with tiredness, they had suffered from flu or had been taking a long-term treatment against an infection.

This means that immunity, tiredness and illness are all more closely linked that we have been willing to accept. “All types of tiredness are essentially the result of stress regardless of whether this stress was positive, motivating and driving, or negative stress” confirms Adrián Doboly from the Natures company, which works in research into the immune system and the development of natural substances to support it. “The contrast between warmth and cold, adaptation stress, an operation, family problems, chronic diseases with an unclear or negative prognosis, these are all stress factors. But stress is almost one hundred percent certainly connected to immune deficiency and a weakened immune system gives pathogens – viruses, bacteria, parasites, mould, aberrational cancer-forming cells – the opportunity to attack, thus creating diseases.”

When Cells Stop Eating

The immune cells do a good job when they eat as much as they can. Of course, not just anything, they should bite into everything potentially harmful with maximum energy. “To put it simply, we can describe it as follows: the protective immune system cell starts communicating with the pathogen, it joins it. This can only be done via one specific receptor in the cell, called CR3 explains A. Doboly. We can picture it as a telephone or radio signal. If a cell has a weak CR3 signal, or none, it cannot make a connection and thus it cannot eat its enemies. “In all honesty, the immune system cells don’t literally eat the pathogens. Via the above-mentioned receptor, they join the enemy cell and initiate a local, fatal, cytotoxic reaction with oxygen radicals. The latter kill the pathogen and we evacuate it through our kidneys” explains an expert from a biochemistry company.

So strengthening the immune system means keeping the hormone and nervous systems in balance and giving your body all the necessary substances, vitamins, trace elements, minerals and substances which strengthen the immune system’s cells’ ‘greed’.
